Preparations for New Season Planting!

After periods of heavy rainfall we could finally kick the new season off with preparations for our first major planting of kale. Faba beans that have been growing as a cover crop all winter maintaining the integrity of the soil structure, were rolled over. Imagine how good this is for the soil life - plenty of roots in the soil, no tillage and a good ground cover. We topped it up with an extra layer of mulch material which will now feed the soil life, suppress weeds and regulate the moisture. Preparations are done - yay! The first planting of this season organic Live2Give kale will go in today or tomorrow. 🚜🚜🚜
