Millet Cover Crop is Terminated!

This is our new paddock you see in the photos above. Over the past few months, it’s been home to a thriving millet cover crop… plus a "bonus population" of Californian thistle. 🙃
Last week’s rain turned out to be perfect timing. Mowing thistle when it’s wet helps weaken it - those soggy, open cuts make an easy entry point for fungi and other pathogens, and thistles really don’t enjoy that.
Now the job’s done, the millet has been mown and baled, and this paddock is ready for its next chapter.
