Delicious Spelt with Seeds Available
Delicious, wholegrain Spelt with Seeds is available every week via our online store. A truly local bread! The organic spelt grain is grown by our friend Harry in Bulls, before being ground to a superfine but 100% wholegrain flour in a zentrofan mill by our friend Lindsay, here in Palmerston North. The bread is then prepared and baked by Richard and his team at Purebread in
Kapiti according to our original recipe.
Another Quality Bakery Closes
This week we heard sad news from The Bread Man Company who have been supplying us with Mountain Rye Sourdough. Unfortunately they have had to close due to growing economic challenges. Another quality bread maker is gone, which is sad for the industry, and tough for the mindful consumer wanting to eat good bread and support responsible local companies.
Super Fresh Red Kumara NEW SEASON
Organic Red Kumara from Dargaville, literally harvested Monday last week and sent to us on Tuesday. The growers had to wait a few days for the rain to clear before harvesting, which finally happened! Delicious new season kumara. Enjoy!
