Pumpkins & Zucchini are in the Ground! Yay!
Last week's email we shared how we had used the sunny days to the fullest spreading transfer mulch for pumpkin seedlings. This week it was time to plant! Using the MulchTec planter we planted 5000 pumpkins we grew from seed. In a few months you'll be able to buy a variety of pumpkins. What's in the ground now?
🎃 Crown Prince pumpkin (with dense sweet nutty flesh)
🎃 Waltham Butternut (a delicious squash with solid orange flesh, smooth texture and a wonderful sweet flavour)
🎃 Squash Jade (Buttercup squash with sweet nutty tasting dry orange flesh)
🎃 Henri's Potimarron (the shape is a reverse plump tear drop and it has an almost red skin with deep orange flesh and excellent flavour)
🎃 Squash Yumeroman (dark green skin colour, and vibrant orange internal flesh colour).
500 zucchini seedlings are also in the ground, this time planted by hand by our Live2Give team and some visiting Japanese students.
