Massey University Trial Update 🔍

The cover crops have grown beautifully in the Massey trial!

As you may remember, the research focuses on nitrogen dynamics and losses, with a close look at how cover crops can help reduce the need for organic fertilisers and minimise environmental impact.

Shiromy and her team came out to take plant samples from the cover crops before we terminated them. We have six blocks in total, each with three different treatments:

1. Controlled section - no cover crops, no mulch

2. Faba bean cover crop only section

3. Mixed cover crop section - faba beans, triticale, crimson clover, and vetch.

The next step is to top up this area with mulch and plant more broccoli. 😊
